Is AI my girlfriend?

The advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has brought about revolutionary changes in the way we live, work, and interact. Among these changes is the emergence of AI as companions or friends, particularly for individuals who may not have strong social networks. This development raises complex questions about the nature of relationships, the human need for connection, and the potential consequences of relying on AI for social and emotional support.

Just Like That, The World Changes

OpenAI has just dropped Sora! Nothing will ever be the same. In a few months, I can make full-length movies that look like ‘Enter the Void’. From my mind to yours. Magic has always existed, but it has been trapped inside some rainforest Bark, in some crack pipe-looking paraphernalia, in some dirty felony baggy, or on some scummy paper. And no one believes you anyway because you sound like a raving lunatic when you try to tell people about it. Such talk also comes with a high cost to your existence, as most ostracize you immediately, no matter how long they’ve known you. We are moments away from Text-To-Biology, where we can make real-life things and objects occur in real time. Wherever we are. This is the transcendental object at the end of time. Thank you, Terence. You were with us all along. Real Talk. Am I excited? Yes. Should I chill out? You chill out. I’m busy with reality holms. 1983…

Sick Co-worker

I worked with this dude for a while. We would spend 8-hour shifts shooting the breeze. And not working at all. Epic conversational prowess. We had mutual hate for the company owners we worked for. Sadly for them, we talked a lot of hilarious shit non-stop. It was a treasure trove of dipshittery there. He was technically my superior. (Site Supervisor - aka dude who sat in a truck all day while I did all the work, aka useless Russian Mob Insurance plant) He was rightfully bored to the teeth. Anyhoo, we were work pals, but one day, he just flat-out disappeared without a trace. All online stuff stops around this time. I considered him a friend, but looking back, he may have just thought of me as a fan? or an Employee. Not sure. He was a genius type. Suitable for high-level artistic output, bad for general happiness. Lame for any lasting, authentic friendship.

I have this background fantasy that one day we will collaborate on something podcasty. This also feels like how I will reconnect with my dead Grandmother once I get to Heaven. The Eye of Sauron sees you! I saved your blue hardhat and trusty Dad hammer for if we ever meet agayn.

I Installed a new head-strap for you and used it while building a Cosco Tilt-Up style. During the Crane days, I slightly felt more like PileDriver guy than Carpenter guy. I thought of you a few times. Hope you are actually alive and well. If not, I hope you are singing to the fish at least. Or to that Shark you sang about.

Eye Contact Is Controversial Charisma

Controversial Charisma

In a video production context:
I want Eye Contact tech to become more readily available.
The automated software, that is. To replace a teleprompter during a recorded read of this or that text or script.
The software looks fantastic, if not uncanny, and still very attractive to me at this early stage. It's still better than watching someone read something while looking off to the side.

Optimizing ChatGPT History /// A Pro Tip for the Avid User

Optimizing ChatGPT History for Idea Evolution and Enhanced Creativity

ChatGPT stands out as a remarkable tool, offering many possibilities for creative and intellectual exploration.

However, to fully harness its potential, one must approach its history tab with a strategy akin to tending a garden of ideas. This approach, valuable for ChatGPT, is also a principle that should be universally applied across all language models, regardless of their developmental stage, so that you can stay on top of your idea game—Sans the weeds.

Paper Off a Cliff - A Notebook of Lyrics by Brice Frillici

In 'Paper Off a Cliff', I bare my artistic process and soul in a highly visual and unfiltered journey of an artist who has chosen to embrace the entirety of their experience – the good, the bad, and the beautifully complex. The chaos of life is a symphony.

Diving into the abyss of your psyche is less about the fall and more about what you yell on the way down. The darkness, the depression, and the flirtations with the edge are like footnotes in my biography; the plot sometimes reads like a twisted psychological thriller.

Stone Moon Demon - New Book and Musical Album By Brice Frillici

In the vast, barren sands, there now stride giants of fable. Creatures melding man, wolf, and AI, casting dune-length shadows, painting a mosaic of what might be the final portrait of Earth's inhabitants.

Loab appears and stamps mythical markers into the deep. Many say a milestone similar to those left on Everest—a motivating factor for the otherwise too terrified to move forth.

Peaks once capped with snow now glisten with crystalline structures. The echoing cries of the hybrids replace the familiar sounds, a haunting symphony of nature's newest chapter.

AI Copyright Law

Back in April, we first covered the controversy of AI music when an AI track of Drake & The Weeknd went mega-viral. OGs, you remember this. Fast forward, and musicians have been clamoring for protection against AI. They haven’t had much success … until now. Enter Google and Universal Music: They’re joining forces to make sure artists get paid when AI creates new melodies using their voices. This is a HUGE win for the music world!!! Artists can now license their voices to companies that want to create new tunes and cash in while they’re at it. A true win-win. Why it matters: More and more big tech companies are stepping up to protect artists’ original content. Adobe's Firefly exclusively uses licensed artwork. Meta is doing the same for Audiocraft, its "ChatGPT for audio." And now, it's Google's turn. The partnership is early, but it’s the first legit solution we’ve seen to ensure creators get paid in the era of AI. - The Neuron

They Live

At the heart of this artistic exploration is a recognition of the symbiotic relationship between technology and creativity, a concept that pervades the pages of this book. This project is an in-depth exploration of the artistic potential of emerging artificial intelligence technologies, interwoven with influences and aesthetics from the 1988 cult film 'They Live' by John Carpenter and the distinctly humanistic touch and image framing style of the artist's previous works, most notably Sekdek.

MUSICIAN

The way I make music is different than this. I use my voice and instruments to physically play and record tracks. I also use effects to make things sound cool. I am half real and half technology. I use a computer to record analog sounds digitally for ease of editing. This person's method seems like an intelligent technology style of making music. I am not judging. I love Amon Tobin. His music is not possible via humans. What do you think about this method? Is it too easy? Why should music be difficult to make? What does this mean for the old-school musician if and when everyone can express themselves via technology and AI? Avoid nostalgia and romantic thoughts when answering yourself. Why does performance ability matter if one wants to make music? Why is there a gut feeling that it is less than? Is it? Why? Should it mostly matter if it sounds cool? If so, who cares where or how it was made? More and more, I do not. I still value Steve Vai. Or Hendrix. Or Mariah. Or Witney. Or Prince. However, if and when music is made that is as good as Chet Baker's and there is no human in the room, I will accept this the same as I accept Megadeth. There is no other choice. Do not hold on to the past. It will only keep you away from the future.
